Support Groups

Child and Youth CareSupport groups are facilitated separately for both the Guardians (most of whom are Gogos) and also for their corresponding (orphaned and vulnerable) children.

Thandanani Time is a 12 week programme focused on improving communication and relations between the guardians and children under their care. Clowns Without Borders South Africa (CWBSA) developed their own sequel to this course, called Njabulo Residency, using song, dance, drama and MBSR (mindfullness based stress reduction) techniques. The support group programme also offer lifeskills training and home work supervision sessions for the children.

All the support groups meet once a month in the outlying regions of Ufafa. Currently there are Guardian and Children support groups in the communities of Chibini, Mashakeni and Emahlathini.
