World AIDS Day 2011

Sunday, 25 December 2011 01:46

We were honoured to co-host World AIDS Day with our special friends from Sisonke District Health, in Nkululeko Hall, in the remote Emahlathini area.  The day began with the traditional candle lighting ceremony.

An excellent programme followed, delivered in the form of a Community Dialogue.  Many health professionals from both Ixopo Clinic and Hospital were present covering topics such as TV and HIV and PMTCT.  Concern was expressed about the high number of young children contracting diarrhoea from unclean water in Ofafa rivers.  Guardians were encouraged to make good use of the health facilities in Ixopo and not delay in finding help especially for young children who are HIV+.
